The ancient art of creating wire jewelry has found its place once more in society.  Women are constantly seeking ways to express their individuality in dress. Wire jewelry is one avenue many have chosen.  Because of the very nature of the art, wire jewelry pieces lend themselves to be one-of-a-kind.  There is no solder used in construction, simply wire and a few hand tools.

There are three techniques used in my wire work.

bulletOne technique is a tailored, frame/bezel mounting commonly known as border wrapped.  The border wraps are made with partially hardened wire.

bulletAnother technique is often referred to as wire sculpture.   It is accomplished with "soft" wire.  The malleability of the wire allows for "swirls and curls" - thus, the term sculpting.

bulletOccasionally, I will use a combination of both "hard" and "soft" wire to get the tailored effect combined with soft flowing lines.
